Class XII Farewell

The Changing Seasons was the theme of the Class XII Farewell at Carmel School, Kuwait.  As the students of the outgoing batch were escorted into the auditorium, the band played a welcome march.  The programme began with a prayer drama which brought out the message that true worship lies in carrying out one’s duties to the best of his abilities.  This was followed by a power point presentation where the changing seasons were linked to one’s life and how one has to find beauty in each season of their lives.  The Principal, Sr. Maria Lytta  then addressed the students, emphasizing Solomon’s words, “To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven” and fondly wished them farewell, encouraging them to work hard in life.  Against a backdrop artistically depicting the four seasons, a series of exuberant dances and songs performed by students of Class XI followed, to the delight of the outgoing batch.  Every student was invited to receive a memento and a title from the Principal, Sr. Maria Lytta and Vice-Principal, Sr. Serena.

The much awaited event for the day, the crowning of Master and Miss Carmel was next, and after a grueling competition conducted by Mrs. Marinha and Mrs. Vidya, Rahul Gomes was declared Master Carmel  2010 and Rekha Zachariah, Miss Carmel 2010.  Ashik Thomas and Judith Bhasker emerged the Runners-up.  On behalf of the staff, Mr. Koshy Abraham gave a touching message bidding adieu to the students.  The XIth graders took them through a nostalgic journey of their days spent at Carmel by yet another power point presentation, which brought ‘a smile to their face and a tear in the eye’.  Finally, representatives from Class XII thanked the Management, the teachers and the Class XI students for this memorable experience at Carmel.  They were then led to a lunch buffet.  Carmel School wishes its outgoing students of Class 2009-’10, life’s very best in all its changing seasons.
