A spirit of spectacular fervour filled the corridors of Carmel school as the elections for the post of Head boy and Head girl enlivened the atmosphere with zest and dynamism. The enthusiastic Carmelites were once again entrusted with the task of electing their leaders. “ Every drop counts; every vote counts”- on this note classes XIC & XID presented an enlightening and thought provoking assembly, that hoped to have an impinge on the critical decision that was to soon come their way. The highlight of the assembly were the laudable speeches made by the candidates assuring fellow Carmelites of their leadership capabilities and displaying their symbols. The campaigning that soon followed with vigorous appeals and captivating slogans filled the air with vitality. It was two days later on the 18th April 2011 that the eligible voters from classes IX to XII along with the staff exercised their franchise, in a democratic manner and elected Vinay D’souza (Head boy )and Sue allen D’souza (Head girl) to lead the institution.
The Carmel bells once again chimed “Excelsior” on April 26th 2011 when the newly elected leaders and the Cabinet were sworn in through a solemn ceremony conducted by classes XIA& XIB on the note, “ Leadership changes vision to reality.
The outgoing School Cabinet handed over their sashes and authority to the new Cabinet and along with class leaders of classes IX to XII took the oath led by Sr.Serena. The parents of the newly elected Head boy and Head girl were the chief guests of the day and addressed the audience. Our principal Sr. Maria Lytta concluded with a message exhorting them to make leadership their target this year by knowing the way themselves and showing it to others. She congratulated the outgoing cabinet on their job well done and wished the new team a successful year ahead.
