“We believe that children are the future, treat them well and help them go the way, show them all the beauty they possess inside…..Children’s day in CSK focused on unearthing the hidden treasures in their lives. A series of competitions were held right from drawing, collage making, flower making, pot decoration, poster making, advertisements and races, which brought out an array of talents from our Carmelites.
The celebrations started off with a prayer led by the sisters invoking God’s blessings on every child and a flashback to the man behind this day-Cha Cha Nehru, the 1st Prime Minister of India who had a great love for children. The children of the primary section were entertained by their teachers who danced to the strains of Sha-la-la-la-la and a Bollywood medley. The Principal stole the show as she joined in the dance. The highlight of the programme was a poetry recitation by the teachers dressed in Carmel uniforms. It was a sight to behold, much to the delight of the children.
The middle school went on an exciting journey with the seven dwarfs digging away, around the world, wherein the teachers put up dances right from Hawaii and sunny Spain to Japan in their quest for treasures. The secondary teachers expressed their affection through a mosaic of a skit, melodious songs, vibrant dances and inspiring messages.
The process of education involves discovery through arduous work only to yield rare and precious jewels, our children whom we send forth with a sense of pride to adorn humanity with their limitless potential. It ended with a treat of Ferrero Rocher to each child. What could be more thrilling? It was ‘A Happy Children’s’ Day” indeed.

Diwali known to all as “The festival of lights” is much more than just that. It is the celebration of the homecoming of Lord Ram, a glimpse into the Ramayan.
It is a time for sharing, for happiness, joy and togetherness. Once again the Carmel family celebrated Diwali in an enthusiastic way with colourful stage décor, diyas, rangoli, lanterns etc. The primary and secondary school were privileged to have, Dr. Muralidharan, an oncologist and Dr. Seemant Raizada an ophthalmologist at Al Bahar Eye Centre to grace the occasion.
As it is with every auspicious day the programmes began with a prayer followed by the recitation of the Holy Quran. The students put up fabulous skits and dances and to add a bit more colour, they had a poetry recitation “Diwali Aiyee” bringing to light the activities on Diwali.
Diwali just like the proverbial Alladin’s lamp has a truly magical touch. May this light kindle in our lives -peace, joy and happiness and spread across the land.

Celebrating teachers is synonymous with gratitude. The teachers at Carmel were overwhelmed with yet another display of gratitude, love and creativity. To the aptly chosen theme of ‘you compose it , we play it’ the students of Std XI meticulously organized an entertaining programme, wherein the talents of different classes were showcased. The teachers relaxed to the strains of the Carmel school band that rendered popular foot tapping tunes. Highly commendable was the manner in which the 12th graders took over the classes, giving the teachers a big break from their daily routine. The programme was honoured with the presence of the General Counsellor for Education of the Apostolic Carmel, Sr.Mabilia A.C. The management honoured two of the staff members, Mrs. Merwat Helal and Mrs. Yvonne Simoes for 25 years of dedicated service. They also showed their appreciation with tokens of gold pendants awarded to teachers for 100% attendance.May you be blessed dear teachers..
