On the 20th of June 2010 Carmel School opened its doors to all children who were to spend the next one month in fruitful living. Carmel Summer Camp 2010 was one filled with various activities. All the Carmelite sisters with the able leadership of Sr. Hazel together with a few teachers made this camp a grand success. The various activities that highlighted the camp were Art and Craft, Dance and Karate. The participants were trained to a Choral Recitation and Singing too. Various indoor and outdoor games were also conducted.

The participants had the opportunity to display their talents by taking part in various competitions like drawing, socially useful product work (Wealth from Waste) and advertisement. The group also took part in educational tours by visiting factories such as the KITCO Chips factory, COKE factory, Caesar’s kitchen and Pizza hut.

Fr. Roger sdb also mesmerized the campers with his magic show. It was days of fun when the campers went into the swimming pool to beat the heat.

On the 19th of July the camp came to an end with a grand closing ceremony where all the campers displayed their talents on stage and enthralled the audience. The participants just did not want ‘The End’ and they are anxiously looking forward to the next summer camp, in Carmel School.


Carmel School students achieved yet another feat in the Board examination of Class X conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi. The CBSE has introduced major reforms in the examination system aimed at holistic development of learners by introducing grades in place of marks in Class X Board Examination conducted in March 2010. This will be followed by Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) scheme for Class IX & X (2010-2011) onwards.

Carmel students excelled in their overall performance where they secured an outstanding Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA). Four students clinched a perfect score of 10 CGPA, 6 obtained an outstanding 9.8 CGPA, 8 scored a commendable 9.6 CGPA and a total of forty-four students have earned a CGPA of 9 or more. Overall 150 A1 grades and 169 A2 grades were secured in various subjects by Carmelites.

The wait is over and the AISSCE results have once more seen the Carmel banner flying high. The total number of students appeared for the examination was 86.

With an overall percentage of 93% in the Maths/Computer Science Stream, the low profile, unassuming Janeet Singh Anand has done Carmel proud. He has also topped with a 98% in Mathematics, 97% in Chemistry, 99% in Computer Science and 93% in Physics.

In the Maths / Biology Stream is Eleanore Evelyn Dias with an aggregate of 89.6%, a 95% in Maths and 93% in Biology.

The top scorer in the Informatics / Biology group is the modest, unassuming and God fearing Sneha Susan Shajan with an average of 89.6%. She has also scored 95% in Chemistry, 91% in Biology and 92% in Informatics. The commerece stream with informatics saw the illustrious Abdul Kidwai with an average of 84.2%. He has also scored a 92% in Business Studies and a 90% in Informatics.

The highest aggregate in the Commerce Stream with Mathematics has been scored by Nicol Eva Mathews with 83.6%. Her consistence in the academic area has paid off with a 94% in Business Studies and a 90% in Accounts.

The eloquent Shama Hidayath took the highest in English with a 92%.
Our school headboy Ashikh Thomas walked away with the top scores in Physics and Biology with percentages of 93 and 95 respectively.

Lovellen D’souza with her pleasing manners and charming attitude scored the highest in informatics with a 94%.
The toppers in Economics is the academically focused Sagar Tilokani and the talented Neolufer Fernandes who have both scored an 86%.

As we celebrate our success, we thank the Lord for His gracious blessings on our children, the staff and the management. We also congratulate all our students and parents who have worked tirelessly towards this end.


Carmel had a triadic celebration, to felicitate their students for their Outstanding Performance. The junior recipients were 341 in numbers. They inspired us with “pointers to success”. The function was graced by Mr. Zeeshan Ullah Khan (Brand Manager for Sadia, Al- Yasra food Co;)

The middle school followed suit with 77 awardees climbing the “ladder of success”. The programme was graced by Mr. Clement Fernandes – Senior Manager, Gulf Trading & Refrigerating Company.

On 13th May 2010 the High school students, 77 in strength, reached the height of the pinnacle through hard work, perseverance and deep faith in God.

The ‘O-Grade Ceremony’ was graced by His Excellency Petar Rajic, the Vatican Ambassador to Kuwait and the school sponsor Mr. Hamad – Al – Ateeqi.

The High school students inspired the audience with their message “to soar high” and reach for the impossible dream through an array of song, dance and a musical “Joseph and his Technicoloured Dream Coat”. The Carmel Band entertained the audience and was highly appreciated.

Carmel over the years has displayed immense capability and has soared way beyond the horizon. The students academic performance was true to their motto “Excelsior”
